Due to its central location, excellent climate and the proximity of recreational and other opportunities nearby, Selah has a great deal of attraction as a place to visit and enjoy.
In mid 2010, a tourism plan was designed to promote opportunities in the surrounding area. The plan highlighted the three strong markets Selah has. The markets include Agricultural, Outdoor Recreation, and Sports Tourism.
With a community focused downtown, Selah has pedestrian-friendly main streets and neighborhoods. Head over to the Parks and Recreation page for a list of walking tours throughout the main corridor. Or click HERE to redirect you to the Walk for Wellness page.
Selah is home to 6 nationally known fruit companies including the world famous Tree Top Juice. Agriculture in Selah also includes lavender and wine.
Outdoor recreation is in abundance in the Selah area. There are hiking and biking trails, a connection to the Yakima Greenway, the Yakima River Canyon Scenic Byway and close proximity to White Pass and wildlife viewing areas. The Yakima River is a world renowned for fly fishing.
Sports Tourism is big in Selah. With the warm weather come several sports tournaments for softball and baseball. There are several green areas and fields for soccer and football as well.
In January of 2011 the Discover Selah web site was launched as a centerpiece of the Tourism effort. The Tourism Department became its own entity in 2011.
