Due to improved Air Quality the Burn Ban has been downgraded to Stage 1 by the YRCAA Air Pollution Control Officer for both the Upper and Lower Yakima County areas effective Thursday December 3, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. until further notice.

A Stage 2 Burn Ban has been Declared by the YRCAA Air Pollution Control Officer for both the Upper and Lower Yakima County areas effective Friday, November 27, 2015 at 10:15 A.M. Until further notice. This Burn Ban has been called due to inversion, very poor dispersion and ventilation.

The City of Selah is saddened to report that Council Member Allen Schmid passed away on October 9, 2015. Mr. Schmid was a long-standing member of the council, serving from 2001-2007 and 2010-2015. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this time. The full obituary can be viewed HERE.
