A Stage 2 Burn Ban has been Declared by the YRCAA Air Pollution Control Officer for both the Upper and Lower Yakima County areas effective Friday, November 27, 2015 at 10:15 A.M. Until further notice. This Burn Ban has been called due to inversion, very poor dispersion and ventilation.

 

PM 2.5 Levels are Elevated in the Upper County Area.
PM 2.5 Levels are Elevated in the Lower County Area.
Ventilation Category will be Poor.

The Stage 2 Burn Ban has been Downgraded to Stage 1 by the YRCAA Air Pollution Control Officer for both the Upper and Lower Yakima County areas effective Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. Until further notice. This Burn Ban has been Downgraded due to improving dispersion and ventilation.

In Memoriam

The City of Selah is saddened to report that Council Member Allen Schmid passed away on October 9, 2015. Mr. Schmid was a long-standing member of the council, serving from 2001-2007 and 2010-2015. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this time. The full obituary can be viewed HERE.

The position will remain vacant until January 1, 2016, when the duly elected representative from the November election will take office.
