Our annual Fall Yard Waste Clean Up will be Thursday, November 12, 2020. This service is free of charge and is for residential yard waste ONLY.

*Debris needs to be boxed, bundled or bagged in 50 pound units or less and limited to 4 feet in length

*NO larger items will be picked up

*NO tires, metals, or demolition debris will be picked up

*NO hazardous wastes (motor oil, batteries, paint, Anti-freeze, etc)

Notice of Civil Service Meeting

There will be a special meeting of the City of Selah Civil Service Commission tomorrow, Wednesday September 9, 2020 at 10:00am in the Selah City Council Chambers located at 115 West Naches Ave; Selah, WA 98942.

The commissioners will review the recruitment process for a new Deputy Fire Chief and filling the vacancies of police officers. Any questions can be referred to Andrew Potter, the Civil Service Secretary, via email at andrew.potter@selahwa.gov.

This meeting is open to the public.

CLOSED – CARES Small Business Grant Fund

The City of Selah has received federal CARES funding from the Washington State Department of Commerce to assist small businesses and individuals adversely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The City Council is committing up to $150,000 to the COVID-10 Small Business Grant Fund, an emergency fund that provides working capital grants in amounts up to $15,000 to qualifying for-profit small businesses.

Political Signage Reminder

If you are planning to place campaign/political signs in the grassy areas along North Wenas Road, please see the mowing schedule listed below.  It is the responsibility of the person placing the signs to remove and replace the sign for mowing purposes. The Selah City Council is currently accepting applications from interested parties to fill a current vacancy on the Selah City Council. To qualify individuals must be a registered voter who has resided within the Selah City limits for a minimum of one year, by time of appointment. Council Members should be available to attend regularly scheduled Council Meetings, which are anticipated to be held on the second and fourth Tuesday at 5:30pm each month.
