The Yakima River is a world class river for fly fishing. Prime locations are just 15 minutes from North Park Lodge. While enjoying quality time with your fly rod, you may also catch a glimpse of elk, deer, and big horn sheep. Never fly fished before? That’s okay, around mile marker 15 is Red’s Fly Shop, with gear, rentals, and advice.

The Yakima River is 214 miles long and is a tributary to the Columbia River. About 40 miles of the river run the Yakima River Canyon, Selah and Yakima. This 40 mile stretch is a great place for fly fishing. This stretch of the river is quiet, scenic and plentiful in fish.If you have never fly fished before and want to try it out for the first time there are places to buy gear, rent gear, rent a boat, and get some great river tips.
