JOB OPENINGS:

Entry Level Police Officer

The City of Selah is creating an applicant registry of Entry Level Police Officers in order to fill a department vacancy. This position will be full-time, non-exempt. The minimum qualifications include:

Must be 21 years of age or older and a US Citizen; must have a High School Diploma or GED certificate and a valid Washington Driver’s License; must be in good health and able to meet LEOFF 2 standards. May not have any felony or domestic violence convictions.

The current salary is $47,772 for a probationary police officer. The City provides an excellent benefit package which can be reviewed here in the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Lateral Entry Police Officer

The City of Selah is creating an applicant registry of Lateral Entry Police Officers in order to fill a department vacancy. This position will be full-time, non-exempt. The minimum qualifications include:

Must have worked a minimum of 18 months as a full-time police officer within the past 24 months in a City, County, or State police agency in Washington. Must possess current CJTC certification, WA Driver’s License & meet LEOFF 2 standards.

The current salary is $54,096 – $63,984 (Third Class – First Class) dependent on previous experience. The City provides an excellent benefit package which can be reviewed here in the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Swimming Pool Employment

The City of Selah is accepting applications for seasonal employees for the City Swimming Pool, including cashiers, lifeguards, and head lifeguards.

Lifeguards are responsible for patrolling the pool in order to maintain the absolute safety of the facility. Duties include, but are not limited to, enforcing rules, supervising swimmers in assigned areas of the pools during its use, preventing accidents, maintaining discipline, making rescues when necessary, and applying first aid and resuscitation techniques when needed.

Starting pay will be based on job position and previous experience. The designated pay rates can be found on page two of our 2017 Salary Ordinance.
