Volunteer Park Update

The City of Selah is pleased to announce an update on Volunteer Park. After testing soil in the Volunteer Park area, a certain amount of arsenic was discovered. Due to this, the City consulted with HLA Engineering and Land Surveying, Inc. to discuss mitigation and remediation.

Selah Skate Park Taco Feed

The Selah Skate Park has been a staple of our community since the early 2000’s. Recently, the Selah Parks and Recreation Department has been preliminary approved for a $35,000 state grant. In order to raise the matching funds, we are having a taco feed on August 5th from 6pm-8pm which will include authentic Mexican tacos, beans and rice. National Night Out at Wixson Park

The Selah Police Department, along with donations from local businesses, is hosting National Night Out, “America’s Night out against Crime.” This event will be held on Tuesday, August 2nd, 2016 at Wixson Park from 6:00-8:30 PM. National Night Out is an effort that promotes Police-Community partnerships. By bringing neighbors together, it sends a message to criminals that the neighborhoods are organized and taking a stand against crime and drugs. Our Special Events page has a calendar of activities, ending with fireworks at 9:30pm, and additional information can be obtained by called the Recreation office at (509) 698-7300.

As we head into the summer months, please be aware that fireworks are prohibited within City limits.
