Selah Skate Park Taco Feed

The Selah Skate Park has been a staple of our community since the early 2000’s. Recently, the Selah Parks and Recreation Department has been preliminary approved for a $35,000 state grant. In order to raise the matching funds, we are having a taco feed on August 5th from 6pm-8pm which will include authentic Mexican tacos, beans and rice. National Night Out at Wixson Park

The Selah Police Department, along with donations from local businesses, is hosting National Night Out, “America’s Night out against Crime.” This event will be held on Tuesday, August 2nd, 2016 at Wixson Park from 6:00-8:30 PM. National Night Out is an effort that promotes Police-Community partnerships. By bringing neighbors together, it sends a message to criminals that the neighborhoods are organized and taking a stand against crime and drugs. City of Selah Independence Day Celebration presented by Les Schwab

The City of Selah invites you and your family to join us at Carlon Park to celebrate Independence Day with food, fun, music, and fireworks. Our Special Events page has a calendar of activities, ending with fireworks at 9:30pm, and additional information can be obtained by called the Recreation office at (509) 698-7300.

As we head into the summer months, please be aware that fireworks are prohibited within City limits.

Per chapter 6.62 of the Municipal code, this includes the following: Ground and hand-held sparkling devices, including items commonly known as dipped sticks, sparklers, cylindrical fountains, cone fountains, illuminating torches, wheels, ground spinners and glitter sparklers; Smoke devices; Fireworks commonly known as helicopters, aerials, spinners, roman candles, mines and shells; Class “C” explosives classified on January 1, 1984, as common fireworks by the U.S. Department of Transportation; and any … Read More

Spring Cleanup Week – May 16-20, 2016

The annual Spring Cleanup is May 16-20 this year, on your regular garbage day. Items can be bagged, boxed or bundled, and are limited to fifty pounds or less per bag, box or bundle. Branches may be bundled for pickup, but must be four feet or less in length.
