Notice of Civil Service Commission Meeting – time changed to 8:30am
There will be a special meeting of the City of Selah Civil Service Commission on Thursday July 22, 2021 at 8:30am in the Selah City Council Chambers located at 115 West Naches Ave; Selah, WA 98942. This meeting is open to the public and conforms with State requirements for the Open Public Meetings Act.

A Stage 1 burn ban has been declared by the Yakima Regional Clean Air Agency’s Air Pollution Control Officer due to a significant increase in air pollution. The burn ban applies to all outdoor and agricultural burning in Yakima County* until further notice.
Under a Stage 1 burn ban:
• All outdoor burning is prohibited throughout Yakima County*.
• All violations of the burn ban are subject to civil penalty.

Flag Football Registration is now OPEN!!
Flag football registration is now open. Register online, over the phone, or in person at the Civic Center. We will run a three week, six game, game season starting August 3rd. Game will be on week nights. (game dates and times are subject to change.) Practices will begin the week of July 26th.
UPDATE – Garbage Collection Notifications
Released 7/15/2021:
Basin will be resuming their normal garbage pick-up hours starting Monday July 19th. We appreciate your flexibility during our recent heat wave.
Basin Disposal released the following statement regarding garbage collection:

Our annual Hot Rods on First Street event is coming up on June 19th. Come out view some spectacular cars and enjoy the sunshine! The event runs from 9:00am and concludes at 2:00pm.

Due to Monday, May 31, being a holiday, garbage pickup will be on Thursday, June 3, 2021 instead of the typical Wednesday morning pickup.

As we go into the summer months, please remember that within the City of Selah each household is limited to two (2) yard sales annually per parcel, not to exceed three (3) days in duration, and the unwanted items are not to be discarded for ‘free’ on the side of the road.
