A Stage 1 Burn Ban has been declared by the YRCAA Air Pollution Control Officer for both the Upper and Lower Yakima County areas until further notice. This burn ban has been called due to deteriorating air quality.
Under a Stage 1 burn ban:
All outdoor burning is prohibited throughout Yakima County.
All violations of the burn ban are subject to civil penalty.
This temporary restriction is due to the buildup of air pollution and current weather conditions. Please check the Yakima Regional Clean Air agency website for the latest information.
