The City of Selah is accepting applications for City Council Position #1. The principal job of a city or town council is to make policy. A policy is a course of action for a community. Policy-making often takes the form of passing ordinances or resolutions. After policy decisions are made by the legislative body, others perform the administrative task of implementing the policies. The distinction between formulation and implementation may not always be clear, necessitating open communication between legislators and administrators.
This position will be effective from date of appointment, June 9, 2015, to the end of the calendar year. Those interested in running for the the remaining two years of the term are encouraged to file at the Yakima County Auditor’s Office during the filing week of May 11-15, 2015.
