Burn Ban Upgraded to Stage II
Effective Today at 4:00 PM

A ban on the use of any wood burning stove, fireplace, fireplace insert or pellet stove is prohibited unless it is the only adequate means of heating a home. All outdoor burning is also prohibited. The restriction begins at 4:00 pm today November 13, 2018, in all of Yakima County* until further notice.

The Yakima Regional Clean Air Authority has declared a Stage 1 burn ban for all of Yakima County. Additional information and updates on the ban can be found on their website.

The Yakima Regional Clean Air Agency has lifted their Stage One Burn Ban for the Yakima Valley. Please be aware of weather conditions this winter and check with them for potential burn bans. You can also visit the Washington State Air Monitoring Network for up to date information on air quality.

Yakima Regional Clean Air Agency has issued a Stage 1 burn ban for both Upper and Lower Yakima County due to stagnant air, and the Washington State Air Monitoring Network shows our air quality as Moderate. Please be aware of the conditions and check both agencies for additional details.

CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF SELAH, WASHINGTON

NOTICE OF CHANGE TO REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING TIME AND NOTICE OF CITY COUNCIL STUDY SESSION

 

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the City of Selah City Council will be conducting a Study Session on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 after the regularly scheduled Council Meeting, which will be starting at 5:00 pm in Council Chambers at City Hall. This meeting is open to the public and conforms with State requirements for the Open Public Meetings Act.

 

Starting Wednesday, September 12, 2018, the Selah pool and the adjacent parking lot to the east will be fenced off for demolition and construction. This will not affect those wishing to enjoy Wixson Park and its amenities, such as the picnic shelters and playground equipment.

Be advised that air quality around Yakima is currently listed as UNHEALTHY for SENSITIVE GROUPS. Take appropriate precautions and check Washington State Air Monitoring for current updates.
