Welcome to the City of Selah Planning Department

Apply Online 3The City of Selah uses the SmartGov software system for land use and building permits. You must create an account and verify the account using your email. Once you have an account you may apply for permits anytime.

GIS ButtonGIS stands for Geographic Information System. The City of Selah partners with Yakima County to utilize their GIS system. While system administrators strive for accuracy on the vast amounts of data that it provides, users should verify its accuracy by obtaining a title report and or contacting your local municipality.

Active Planning Projects

This proposed ordinance change has been passed. For more information please review the updated Municipal Code Chapter 4. 

Currently no formal process exists for the public, or organizations to apply for a special event. This proposed ordinance creates an application process allowing a single point of contact between the City and the applicant. This process will allow multiple departments to engage in the planning process without the need for the applicant to contact each of them individually. We are currently reviewing the legislative changes regarding ADU's. Specifically RCW. 36.70A.681. This legislation has the potential to significantly alter the residential landscape of Selah. We are working with our partners to ensure compliance while reviewing options that will limit the impacts.  The deadline for this project is December 2026

There are a few areas in the City of Selah which have confusing or conflicting street names and addresses. Staff will be working with residents as we prepare to make changes to addressing and street names. This endeavor is critical to ensure a timely response by emergency service, as well as reducing confusion in mapping systems and postal and private delivery services. We ask for your patience and understanding as we prepare to make these important changes to some streets and addresses.
