If you are a homeowner within the City of Selah and have built or remodeled your home since 1974 the Community Development and Planning Department may have originals or copies of building plans/ blueprints of your home or project. Washington State Law (RCW 40.14.070) in conjunction with the Washington State Archives (LU50-11-05) does not require our department to keep these plans at our facility after project completion. Swimming Pool Employment

The City of Selah is accepting applications for seasonal employees for the City Swimming Pool, including cashiers, lifeguards, and head lifeguards.

Lifeguards are responsible for patrolling the pool in order to maintain the absolute safety of the facility. Duties include, but are not limited to, enforcing rules, supervising swimmers in assigned areas of the pools during its use, preventing accidents, maintaining discipline, making rescues when necessary, and applying first aid and resuscitation techniques when needed.

Due to improving Air Quality the Burn Ban has been lifted by the YRCAA Air Pollution Control Officer for both the Upper and Lower Yakima County areas effective Monday January 30, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. until further notice.

Air quality can change rapidly; please keep watching and we will update the situation as necessary.

Burn Ban upgraded to Stage 2

⦁ A Stage 2 Burn Ban has been declared by the YRCAA Air Pollution Control Officer for both the Upper and Lower Yakima County areas effective Thursday January 26, 2017 at 4:30pm. Conditions will be reevaluated on Monday, January 30th at 9:30am. This burn ban has been called due to deteriorating air quality conditions.

⦁ Ventilation category will be poor.
⦁ Dispersion category will be poor.
⦁ A strong surface inversion will persist through at least Tuesday Jan.17th
