NOTICE OF DEVELOPMENT APPLICATION & ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW 
OPPORTUNITY TO PROVIDE COMMENTS
NOTICE OF PLANNING COMMISSION OPEN RECORD PUBLIC HEARING

On April 28, 2017, the City of Selah Planning Department received a Class 3 Use Review application from Hordan Planning Services, 410 N. 2nd Street, Yakima, WA 98901 on behalf of the City of Selah to remove and replace the existing swimming pool and pool house and replace it with a new aquatic center consisting of a pool house, two swimming pools and other new aquatic recreational opportunities not currently located on the site.  Additional features which support the center are: reconfiguration of the surrounding parking lots, designation of overflow parking at the Selah Civic Center, and installation of curb, gutter and sidewalks between the civic center and the aquatic center to provide safe passage for pedestrians between the two locations.  The project site is located at the 214 and 216 S. 3rd St. Selah, WA  98942 (Yakima County Parcel Number: 181435-44432 & 181435-44437).

The application was determined complete for processing on May 5, 2017. The decision on this application will be made within one-hundred twenty days of the determination of complete application.

Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, commencing at 5:30 P.M., or as soon thereafter as practical, the City of Selah Planning Commission will conduct an open record public hearing in the Council Chambers, Selah City Hall, 115 W. Naches Ave. Selah, WA on the Class 3 Use. All interested persons may appear and provide testimony on the application. SMC 21.09.030 and SMC 10.06.040 are pertinent to the hearing procedure. At the conclusion of the public hearing the Planning Commission will consider the matter and issue a recommendation to the City Council for approval, approval with conditions, or denial of the Class 3 Use application.
